Ever since our first real date, January 16, I’ve spent every weekend just waiting for you. We talked on the phone every day, laughed until we cried, and it felt so familiar, as if we’d known each other forever.
Then came January 31, the day my heart was finally able to say aloud what it had known for so long. I was incredibly nervous, my hands were shaking, but when you said “yes,” I was
overwhelmed with happiness. Every kiss was like a warm storm that made me glow from the inside. In that moment, I silently promised you: I’ll be by your side forever, until we’re old and gray together.

I wanted to ask her the most important question of my life in a place that would remain with us forever. So, I took her up to the Säntis, blindfolded and with Disney songs playing in her ears.
Up on the observation deck, with the Alps as silent witnesses, after a brief speech about penguins, I got down on one knee.
My heart was pounding so loudly that I could barely hear my own voice when I asked her if she would marry me.
Her “yes” was the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard; it saved me and overwhelmed me at the same time.
Afterward, we had breakfast above the clouds, made some Chocolate at the Läderach factory, and held each other tight as newly engaged lovers.
The happiest day of my life.
